We’re a travelling trio of a mum and her two sons (10 & 9) and we usually reside in the UK.
In the spring of 2019 I came up with the idea of taking some time out and going travelling. The boys are currently in year 5 and 6 at school and so taking them now, before they move to upper school, feels like the right time. If not now, then when!?
I will be world schooling the boys as we go and whilst I have some supplies with us, other than additional maths and English, lots of learning will be done through immersion in our environment.
Initially the idea was to be going around the ‘world’ for about 12 months but as time went by and circumstances developed, the idea morphed into just over 6 months and concentrating on Asia. Once this idea solidified I felt much happier with it, more manageable and doable. A good place to start our travel adventures!
The idea developed quickly and within 3 months the plan has come to fruition. All planning has been done by me. Mistakes will be made. Experiences and fun will be had. Lessons will be learnt. Memories will be made.
